I find most of the kydex & leather types like the Crossbreeds way to much.
One issue is full coverage because of perspiration. I have a kydex holster for a couple other guns made by Grandfather oak that are fantastic. Therefore an IWB is all I regularly consider and a tuckable type is much preferred. My climate is Africa hot 6 months of the year so a cover garment isn't going to happen. I don't use those anymore because I noticed wear marks on my two-tone Kimber.
Galco SOB, Bianchi belt holsters, lots of outside and inside kydex holsters. Eventually I think I will graduate to an Ultra CDP II with bobtail.Īnyway, I mostly use a Galco IWB holster. Mine is a Kimber on an alloy frame with the complete 'melted' treatment. However, the Commander sized guns are better and Officers models better still. I find the full sized 1911 way too much for CC.

The fit, construction, and quality are top-notch. I have used every holster known to man and I must say for me the crossbreed mini tuck IWB with the founders leather has got to be the most comfortable holster I have ever used. The fit, construction, and quality are top-notch. But it's still nice and the ability to adjust the retention is very nice also. One note, it's still an open-ended holster. Crossbreed scored a home run with this new model. There are plenty of choices for Kydex holsters out there, and some are nice, but nothing will ever feel as nice as leather if ur carrying IWB. Nothing will ever feel as nice as leather if you're carrying IWB. The Commander is an excellent concealed carry handgun and a good service pistol as well. At seven yards, any of these loads will cut a single ragged hole. You'll literally forget you're wearing it. The 1911 Commander is reliable with a good mix of ammunition and accurate enough for personal defense with any load. They fit like a glove are beyond comfortable. You won't regret purchasing one or multiple holsters. They are on the more expensive side but well worth the money. I own 3 of them for 3 different handguns. I've tried them all and always end up with crossbreed. Without a doubt the best IWB holster you can buy. You will literally forget you're wearing it!.
